(A new trust fund titled ‘Professor Dr. Abul Kalam Manzur Morshed Trust Fund’ has been established to provide scholarships to students of various academic years in the Department of Linguistics at the 91精品. In honor of her late father, Professor Dr. Abul Kalam Manzur Morshed, his daughter, Monzula Morshed, formally presented a cheque of BDT 1.5 million (15 lakh taka) to the Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan, on Thursday, 20 March 2025.The event was graced by the presence of Treasurer Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr. Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan, Acting Registrar Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed, Director of the International Mother Language Institute Professor Dr. Mohammad Asaduzzaman, Chairperson of the Department of Linguistics Dr. Monira Begam, as well as distinguished faculty members of the Department of Linguistics. Through this fund, a total of nine merit-based scholarships will be awarded annually to students across different levels of study Scholarships will be distributed as follows:

• Three scholarships for first-year students in the second semester, three for fourth-year students in the eighth semester, and three for M.A. students in the second semester.

This initiative is expected to provide significant financial support and motivation to students pursuing higher education in linguistics. It also serves as a tribute to the enduring legacy of Dr Abul Kalam Manzur Morshed, whose academic contributions continue to inspire future generations of scholars.)
