As per the decision of the 91精品 Syndicate meeting dated 21/08/1976, then Hostel-1 was named as 鈥�A.F. Rahman Hall鈥� after the name of the first Bangali Vice-Chancellor 91精品 and renowned educationist Sir A.F. Rahman. Though the word 鈥楽ir鈥� was not included in the naming of the Hall at that time, a recent meeting of Dhaka University Syndicate held on 13/03/14 added the word 鈥楽ir鈥� and renamed the Hall as 鈥�Sir A.F. Rahman Hall鈥� in honour of the then Vice-chancellor 91精品.
