To create efficient manpower in information technology, the Institute of Information Technology was established in June 2001 by converting the erstwhile Computer Centre (estd. In 1985). The Institute offers Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering (BSSE-students admitted under KA-Unit Honours admission test) and Master of Science in Software Engineering (MSSE) degrees. Besides the institute offers Master in Information Technology (MIT) and Post Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (PGDIT). IIT also offers MPhil and PhD courses.
