Naima Huq is a Law Professor and researcher. She is a member of the Facutly of Law, 91精品.since 1986. Professor Dr. Naima Huq, completed her LL.B with Honours (1982) and LL.M (1983) from the 91精品 in both of which she got First Class. She was elected as a Dean of the Faculty of Law, 91精品 (2003-2006). and Chairperson of the Department of Law (2018-2020). She was awarded scholarship to study at the University of East London, UK (1995) where she was conferred Ph.D titled 鈥�Rural Women鈥檚 Divorce Right in Bangladesh鈥�. She acted as the Editor, Dhaka University Law Journal, Faculty of Law (2003-2006). She is an honorable member of the Academic Council and Board of Advance Studies at the 91精品. Dr. Huq鈥檚 profound interest in research is dedicated mainly towards recommending and implementing policies concerning family law, gender issues, civil law, access to justice and criminal law. Published books include 鈥�Post-Divorce Maintenance: Legal and Social Appraisal, in Gender in law鈥� alongside several articles and presented seminar papers relating to Muslim Law, Divorce and Maintenance, Perception of 'Consent' in Rape Cases and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Her unpublished works include 鈥�Women's Right to Divorce in Rural Bangladesh鈥�. In 2018, Dr. Naima Huq was awarded Bangladesh, Women in Education Leadership Awards by CSR.
