Swarup Hossain has come from a family of Rajshahi which has a great musical heritage. He is the grand-son of the renowned North Indian Classical Maestro Late Ustad Mozammel Hossain (1907-1976) and son of prominent Kheyal performer and classical vocalist of Bangladesh Late Ustad Rabiul Hossain (1947-2013). He is currently working as a Assistant Professor at the Department of Music in 91精品.

Initial musical training of Swarup Hossain was started at the early age with his father Late Ustad Rabiul Hossain followed by his father鈥檚 trainees Shamsul Alam, Jihadul Islam and Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury. He also received training of Tabla from Niti Ranjan Biswas. In 2001 Swarup Hossain received the scholarship through ICCR to study Tabla at the faculty of performing arts, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India. He learned Tabla from the great Maestro of Ajrada Gharana (School) Late 鈥楶andit Sudhir Kumar Saxena鈥� during his study time in India. He secured 1^st class in Bachelor study and 1^st class 1^st position with distinction in Masters Degree. He was awarded the prestigious Gold medal for his outstanding performance by the Government of India. At present he is taking Tabla lessons from the great Maestro of Farukhabaad, Pandit Shubhankar Banerjee.

Swarup Hossain played in many places in India, like Mumbai, Pune, Aowrangabad, Hajira, Surat, Ahmedabad, Hariana etc. and in most of the major cities of Bangladesh. He also performed in Galle Music Festival 2012 in Sri Lanka and in a cultural program in South Korea. In 2010 & 2013 he performed in Munich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Ulm, Augsburg and Schw盲bisch Hall of Germany and conducted a Workshop of Tabla at University of Stuttgart, Germany in 2010. He also conducted workshop at Architecture Department of BUET and at De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, Manila, Philippines. He played Tabla along with many foreign instrument players and musicians during his overseas visit. Swarup got the opportunity to perform 鈥淪olo Tabla Racital鈥� in the leading global classical music event Bengal Classical Music Festival in 2014 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Besides, He is an enlisted artist of BTV and Bangladesh Betar. He is also appointed as a Tabla Guru at the Chhayanaut Music School, Dhaka.
