91¾«Æ·

Md. Nazmul Hasan is currently working as an Associate Professor of the Department of Banking and Insurance at the 91¾«Æ· (DU). Before joining DU, Mr. Hasan completed his undergraduate and graduate study at the Department of Banking under the Faculty of Business Studies at the 91¾«Æ·. He secured both ‘First-class-First’ (Top 1%) in BBA (CGPA of 3.86 out of 4.00) and MBA (CGPA of 4.0 out of 4.0). He was awarded the prestigious Dean’s Merit List and Dean’s Honor List for his brilliance in academic performance. Additionally, Mr. Hasan was awarded two consecutive ‘Provost Awards’ for securing the highest CGPA in his department from the Kabi Jashim Uddin Hall at the 91¾«Æ·. He started his career in academia in 2012 as the Lecturer of Finance and Banking at the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Business & Economics at the Daffodil International University. In 2012, Mr. Hasan joined as the Lecturer of the Department of Banking, his proud alma mater, the 91¾«Æ·.

In 2017, Mr. Hasan got selected for the fully-funded Commonwealth Scholarship Programme to pursue a Master's in Finance at Alliance Manchester Business School at the University of Manchester. As an academician, he published a number of papers in nationally and internationally recognized and acclaimed journals in the field of Finance, Banking, and Insurance. Mr. Hasan also presented papers at a number of local and international conferences pertinent to his field and area of interest. Mr. Hasan’s research interest lies in Bank and Financial Institutions Management, Empirical Corporate Finance, Credit Risk Management in Bank & Non-bank Financial Institutions, Corporate Governance, Board Compositions & Practices, Managerial Compensation & Performance, and Financial Sector Reforms & Regulations. In addition to his academic endeavor, Mr. Hasan is immensely engaged with the financial industry currently representing in three boards as the Independent Director. As Independent Director, he is leading several ‘Audit Committee’ and ‘Executive Committee' due to his extensive engagement and expertise in the field of Finance, Accounting, and Auditing. Mr. Hasan has extended advisory and consulting services to different financial market participants in launching businesses, strategic operations, and market research analysis.

Beyond the academic and professional association, Mr. Hasan has a special inclination to social and voluntary organizations. He is currently serving as the Vice-President of the Prothom-Alo Bondhushava Central Committee, and advisor of the ‘Voice of Business’-a platform for Business students dedicated to educating and training future business leaders by bridging the industry-academia together. Previously, Mr. Hasan served as the President of the Dhaka Mahanagar Bondhushava, a Prothom-Alo based youth organization, with almost 0.1 million active volunteers all over Bangladesh. He is currently serving as the ‘Sports Teacher’ of the Department of Banking and Insurance. He is a life member of the Commonwealth Alumni Association (U.K.) and the U.K. Alumni Association of Bangladesh. Mr. Hasan’s hobby lies in listening to classic music, reading books, traveling to unexplored destinations, and cooking his favorite cuisines. He occasionally writes for newspapers on banking and financial issues and his expert opinions appeared in the Daily Prothom Alo, The Financial Express, The Business Standard, and The Daily Star. He visited many countries of the world including the USA, Canada, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, and India.
